Situated half-way between Merida and Cancun, Valladolid, which was denominated a Magical Town in August, 2012, is a picturesque colonial city boasting beautiful and very majestic quarters, earning it the title of «The Sultan of the East» ever since 1823.
Here, you can find two very important and impressive cenotes: Zací, just a few blocks away from the Main Square; and Dzitnup, five kilometers out of town. Visiting the San Roque Museum is recommended, where different exhibition rooms will demonstrate the wealth of this zone from Mayan times until the present day.
